Singer-songwriter Eli Taylor, from Englewood, FL., has been playing guitar since he was fourteen years old. It was during the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic when the world was shutting down, that Eli had the opportunity to become completely absorbed by the guitar and eventually write his own music.
During high school, Eli played guitar in the Jazz band for 3 years, where he was able to start an indie-rock band with friends from the band in his junior year. They would play various genres including reggae, pop, indie-rock, and jazz. The shows the band played that summer taught Eli how to be on stage and perform.
Eli says, “The music that usually inspires me is music with fun and different rhythms and interesting chords and melodies. I draw inspiration from artists like The Backseat Lovers, Stevie Wonder, Cage the Elephant, Briston Maroney, and João Bosco. I am also inspired by things that happen in my everyday life, like interactions with kind people, and the beauty of nature.”
When listeners hear Eli’s music, he says, “I want it to feel like a spontaneous compliment from a stranger on the street. It’s not for everyone, but I hope that when people hear it, their day becomes a little more colorful.”
While Eli continues his musical journey, he is working on releasing his first EP and eventually a 10-12 song album.
The first single of the new EP.
